Artworks by Amber

Amber Arthur began doodling, drawing and painting at an early age when she figured out that simple "stick people" drawings needed hair, eyelashes, clothes and all the little details that were missing in the typical pictures that young people make. 

She further developed talents at Ferris State University (Big Rapids, MI) in the Commercial Art program.  After a short stint in the Commercial Art program, she took on freelance work painting on any and everything.  A dear friend asked a favor to paint ornaments for her daycare kids personalizing them for each child.  From then on, Amber has painted hundreds of ornaments.

About 10 years ago, she came across a woodburner and thought she would try to use it on a small round wood slab.  As a result, the drive to make the woodburned pictures look smooth and have depth was imminent.  These woodburned illustrations add a natural rustic element to furniture or can be used as a wall hanging.

A variety of Amber's artwork is displayed at the Walking Horse Gallery in Old Towne, Lansing, Michigan.

As a licensed artist for Michigan State University, Amber has painted MSU logos on ornaments, greeting cards, and has designed swimwear that represents the college for female fans and students alike to take to the beach.  These bikinis were initially meant for students on Spring Break, but has since spread to fans and are being recognized everywhere.  Check them out...  www.lakesideemporium.com/SpartanSwimwear.
